Life Of Agony - River Runs Red | Signed 2-CD Digipak

Life Of Agony - 'River Runs Red - The Top Shelf Edition' autographed twice by LOA bassist Alan Robert.

Alan wrote all of the lyrics, composed all of the melodies & developed all of the musical concepts on Life Of Agony's classic 1993 debut album - 'River Runs Red'.

Alan Robert also conceptualized the album's cover art & designed the band's iconic, skull-circle logo which is stylized from the New York Hardcore scene (NYHC) logo - the music scene that spawned Life Of Agony.

Alan signed the album for me on two separate occasions.

First, he signed it on the front, on top of the band's logo in the album's cover art.

The cover artwork was based directly on the illustration that Alan had created for the 'River Runs Red' pre-production demo.

A couple of years later, Alan signed the back for me, on top of his photo.

The band shot on the back was exclusive to the "Top Shelf Edition" of 'River Runs Red' and was not featured in the original album packaging.

The 'River Runs Red - Top Shelf Edition' was released in the US in 2008 as part of Roadrunner Records' Expanded Edition series.

It features a CD with the original album remastered for the first time by Ted Jensen at Sterling Sound, NYC plus four bonus tracks.

This edition also includes a DVD with both music videos released from the album along with two live songs from LOA's legendary performance at the 1995 Dynamo Open Air Festival.

Thanks guys...and yes RRR is definitely a masterpiece...one of the greatest concept albums ever...one of my all-time favorite albums ever...Alan Robert wrote everything on RRR...the other guys started writing some songs and lyrics on their later albums...the stand out tracks on those albums seem to always be the ones Alan wrote...that's not a dig on the other guys, they are all cool and they are all talented...and I love all the albums...but that's just a fact...Makes me think they would have several classics - start to finish - like RRR - if they let him handle all the songwriting...
