I got this patch in the summer of 2018 for my Slayer tribute jacket. **Edit**: I got this off of ebay from the seller: oldschoolshirts-2007. 'Dude is really cool.
Woven and uber high detail. Now, I'm gonna be blasphemous (lol,) but I wasn't always impressed/wowed with many Slayer designs; there are exceptions: Hell Awaits, Reign in Blood, Live Undead, World Painted Blood skull, and a few stuff here and there... But THIS... This is bad ass! I really don't know when it was made, 2018? 2017? 3535? 7510? I really don't know; but pardon the joke manufacture date I listed it as.
'No idea if this is bootleg or not, no stamp anywhere nor any numbers, heck I don't even know where this design originated; but I do have a 4x4 printed square of the same design in black... It's alright... It can't compared to the glory of this patch. I'm also generally not one for colored borders, but this is splendiferous exception.
Totally not for sale or trade. Sorry.

Nice design, interesting colors. Probably the only Slayer patch with this much blue on it, for sure.

Yeah really nice one, wish there were more woven mini-backpatches like this.

What's interesting is that the shoulders and a few other details aren't true-white, they're a very light-tan/off white.
And yea, blue is a rarity for slayer, let alone this much. 'Not sure if there exist versions with other border colors. A blood-red/wine-red would look sick.

The design was originally done by Chris Moyen for Slayer, unsure of when though. But somehow the sale fell through and it ended up being sold to Hellfest in 2014. This colorized version was originally done by unholypatches in 2018. Who last I checked currently have smaller versions of this patch.
Edit: Found a 2010 post on the NWN forum where Moyen mentions "the unused Slayer art". So it goes back a while before it got eventually sold to Hellfest. And the reason for the design never being made official, is that the band left Bravado merch the same time Moyen drew the art. So they never were able to see or approve it. Wonder if they've ever seen one of the bootlegs of it yet. I guess, that since they did play Hellfest that year. They've probably at least seen that version. But wonder if they would've noticed the distinctive Slayer sword?

There's not one part of what you said that wasn't useful... Thanks for all the info, hearing the backstory on this design makes so much sense now, and I found unholypatches' site and they got some cooooll stuff (I bookmarked several items.) So, thanks a ton~~ ^_^
