All those Dropkick Murphys patches kick ass!
kimo on
Thanks...must say I'm surprised to find a few Murphy's fans on this site.
DamageIncDEB on
Actually I was too when I found some Dropkick Murphys fans here too. Though its always good to do so, now time to find those Flogging Molly fans lol
joecubbie
Dropkick Murphys are great!!! Flogging Molly...not so much. I prefer Fastway ;) (who else gets the joke?)
kimo on
I also love Flogging Molly. I always like to give the Flogging Molly fans shit on some of the punk sites I'm on by posting Fastway clips. And no most of them don't get the joke.
eew, hair metal. haha...
The only ones i really like is motley crue and wasp, if they count.
joecubbie
Haha Fastway wasn't even hair metal. They were like commercial hard rock at best. And its hard to believe that Pete Way and Fast Eddie would go from being legendary metal forefathers...to that.
I haven't even listened to fastway.
But to be fair, I can stomach Gogmagog... so you never know...
joecubbie
lol...i never considered Crue or W.A.S.P. "hair metal". Crue was more a part of the 80s hard rock thing (or at least after the first two records which were metal) and W.A.S.P. was always metal.
What do you call hair metal anyway then?
joecubbie
Hair metal = Winger, Trixter, SteelHeart aka shitty 80s hard rock
I am very fortunate to never have listened to hair metal then. :D
joecubbie
lol what about Femme Fatale, Shark Island, or Stryper? D-A-D, Sleeze Beez, Saigon Kick...HAIR METAL
I've listened to Stryper's To Hell with the Devil. That's it.
Sleeze beez is an incredibly crappy name. What is up with hair bands not being able to spell, srs...
kimo on
Haha....You need to blame Slade for that trend. Cum On Feel The Noise.
joecubbie
Don't forget "Mama Weer All Crazee Now", another Slade song covered by QR
kimo on
Yes...that one as well. Actually you could probably name half of Slades catalogue. Awesome band but.
joecubbie
O well...just try to erase that terrible moment of your life :D I know I did
The title track isnt bad. :x
kimo on
Yes I consider all of them in the hair metal genre.....except for Sleeze Beez......I'd put them in the absolute shit arse crap generic band genre.
joecubbie
Hahaha AGREED!!! HOLY SHIT THEY'RE STILL AROUND!!!! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sleeze_Beez
joecubbie
And speaking of generic shit, BukkakeBoys are still around too!!! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bulletboys
kimo on
Yes the sad thing is that recently there has been a renewed interest in 80's hair metal bands so that's why you get bands like Quite Riot kicking around with the drummer being the only original member.
if you hadnt posted the link, I would have believed you when you said bukkakeboys were an actual band.
joecubbie
Considering all the retarded band names back then, I wouldn't be surprised if there WAS "BukkakeBoys" somewhere
Judas Priestess on
Fastway was awesome.
joecubbie
Fastway was Fastway...no more no less. I'm not saying they were good or bad
kimo on
Yeah I always liked Fastway.....especially the trick or treat soundtrack.
kimo on
Hey...as they say, different strokes for different folks. Anyway,l I consider Motley Crue and WASP as hair metal.
LikkedbyDeath on
Nice Crashdïet patches. Shame the music is bland.
kimo on
Oh Really....Crashdiet is one of the few modern bands I actually like.
LikkedbyDeath on
Like you said above, different strokes for different folks. :-)
Have you seen them live? I'd go for their gig if they ever come by.
kimo on
Yeah I actually have seen them live. They put on a great show and are one of the few bands who do actually make the effort to come to Australia.
LikkedbyDeath on
What about Steel Panther, out of curiosity? I've always wanted to see them live, despite Balls Out being a bit of a weak album.
kimo on
Steel panther are the greatest hard rock/metal band of the modern era in my opinion. I've saw them 3 times last year and they put on the the best shows I've seen for years.
Obviously you have to have a sense of humour as they do take the piss out of themselves and metal in general, but that's what makes it so good.
joecubbie
I wouldn't say best hard rock/metal band, but definitely awesome
joecubbie
Fuck all night and party all day :D
Not for minors. ;)
LikkedbyDeath on
Da good lawd only knows what you were doing at 14... :D
Listening to linkin park and eminem. srs.
joecubbie
Oldschool Eminem for the win...I gave up on him when he started doing songs with trashy manufactured popstars and rappers
He's still quite good actually.
Very modern productions, obv.
But his syllable spacing etc are all still great.

joecubbie
Oh he'll always be amazing I just don't like the whole collaboration thing. "Rap God" and "Berzerk" are the only 2 songs I really love off the new record. I was very disappointed to hear "The Monster".
I havent listened to anything actually.
Haven't listened to rap at all in a while and its fallen off my radar.
Butyeah, I hate the R&B type collabos. srs.
Even the old school ones dont pull it off well.
Except for ghetto gospel lol.
LikkedbyDeath on
You know what collabs were good? The Big Pun/Fat Joe ones. Mmm mm!
LikkedbyDeath on
It's almost like "Rock and Roll All Nite"... But remade for the 21st century kids lol.
kimo on
No Fastway were never hair metal. It's just a big jump for Dave king from Fastway To Flogging molly
kimo on
Ummmm.......Theatre Of Pain ......anyone remember that one.
what, the motley crue album?
