Darkthrone is perhaps the only 2nd wave of black metal that didn't soak up all the attention the black metal scene was getting and has got. They've grown by other, respectable means.

i first heard about darkthrone when plague weilder came out/ i listend to it in the shop [but when it was punk guitars i didnt get it_] about 2 years later the book lords of chaos came out_black metal i heard Transylvanian hunger !!!!!
