sometime after ALF (to friends also known as Gordon Shumway) recorded his first solo effort, the well-received "You're The One Who's Out Of This World", he decided to invent what would be called "Black Metal" - by recording his dark, brutal debut record "ALFORY" in a garage, fueled by the isolation and despair of being an alien life form under cover in LA
