Obituary - Poster Collection

Love this Obituary entry !!! I never knew about that Hard Rock poster. Gotta search that one out. I can't tell you how many times I absent mindedly blow that Kerrang centerfold. I remember seeing them in December of 1990 w/ Sepultura & Sadus. They definitely took the night with Sadus coming in second. Sepultura looked and played exhausted. It was the end of the tour for them, so that's probably why.

Lucky! What a dream lineup to see, especially during their prime. Yeah, that happens. There's no doubt they killed it on other dates. I have a Sepultura bootleg dvd that was recorded in 1989 during their first show in the U.S. which was NYC. Were you there?

Good luck on finding that Kerrang centerfold - that one pops up pretty often.

Yep. As a matter of fact, that show in '89 was in December, and then a year later almost to the day, I saw them at the same club in '90. That was at the famous L'amour in Brooklyn NYC. In '89 they toured with Faith Or Fear.

What an amazing time to be alive! Wasn’t there two L’amour clubs in NY? So much history there just like the Stone in S.F., Ruthies Inn in Berkeley, and the Omni in Oakland.

Yes indeed. The other club was located in Queens, NYC. That club catered to the Glam scene. Total hair metal club. I never stepped foot in that place, not even out of curiosity. Otherwise it was a dance club on other nights. It's sad walking around the city now seeing how much has changed. All the old clubs and record stores are now gone. Replaced by eateries or offices. You get a real hollow pit in your stomach knowing those times will never come again. Hey, at least we got to live it. I'm sure you share the same sentiments out by you ?

Damn, I know the feeling. The same thing is going on out here. Little to no venues and every inch of open space being used to build more luxury apartments and shopping centers. Everyone around is a mindless zombie. What a crazy time to be alive.
