The most widely known self-demise in black metal, but don't forget about others... Erik from Immortal/Borknagar/Gorgoroth, Jon from Dissection, Tchort from Winds of the Black Mountains. There is probably more. R. I. P.
Food for thought:
People I've spoken to think that a photo like this would've met Dead's approval and morbid sense of humor. But isn't it ironic that despite his deep anti-trend attitude when it comes to metal (as can be seen from his interviews and letters), this image of Dead is so frequently reproduced and printed in so many forms that it may even qualify as a trend by now.
That's why I keep this for particular occasions and don't wear it very often, only when the mood really calls for it - cause I don't want to get used and immune to this image, the element of otherness and shock and even morbid wonder should always be there; otherwise getting desensitized will lead to treating this item like any wearable trend.
