I think it’s an OG. Late 90s and 2000s patches have different borders sometimes. I’ve had a few patches where in a side to side comparison borders looked different. I compared the back of this one to my Korn, Deftones, Linkin Park and Marilyn Manson patches of the late 90s and the back is the same, creased black. As for the different colored copyright maybe it’s just lighting in pictures. I doubt that this is a bootleg because I think SOAD fans aren’t so patch crazy even if this is a hard patch to find. Although because of that weird line on the top I have a small doubt.

Just checked my Machine Head - TBR and Papa Roach - Infest patches and found that there are gaps in the borders too so it’s probably just a small defect

Yeah, the back makes me think it's real, but the borders seemed kinda sloppy even for that era and the coloring is a little off, seems faded almost? It looks just like it does in the first pic

Looks the same as this one. Copyright may appear darker on there but probably just the lighting. You can also see some of the border splitting. https://tshirtslayer.com/patch/system-down-toxicity-patch

From these and a few others it makes me think that copying a patch thread for thread is almost impossible. Given the factor of exact thread color, style of weaving, closeness of threads. These resemble the original but a trained eye can still spot the differences https://tshirtslayer.com/patch/fake-patches

Yeah, I actually think you may be right. If it is a bootleg it’s one of the closest I’ve seen but it does look pretty darn close to the one you linked
