This patch has been my Holy Grail patch for about the same time that I've been looking for an official Dead or Alive T-shirt from the 80s (So I've been hunting a patch like this for around 11 to 12 years now). Just recently, my dream came true when this bad boy came home! I've seen this exact patch pop up on eBay very rarely. So when I found it by complete accident from a random patch lot, I just had to swoop in and get it. The seller sold it to me for a pretty cheap price compared to all the other times I've seen this patch go on sale. So I'm extremely thankful for that.
Here's some info of this patch from what I've been told by DOA fans from the official FB group: These DOA patches were sold in funfairs and record fairs in the 80s and 90s (Someone reported that they got their patch at Hull Fair back in the 80s). These patches were created using the silk-screening technique. It's unknown as of now which company created them (Or who created them in the first place). We narrowed down that it wasn't made by Razamataz at least. And while these DOA patches are vintage, they are technically not official merch by the band. However, the fans love these patches so much that they have treated them as official merch for decades. If anymore info comes up about the origin of this patch, I'll be sure to update the description when possible.
As for my personal review of this specific patch, it's one of my favourite patches that I own now! It's not perfect (The red parts seemed to have been silkscreened a bit too low and there's an extra piece of boarder fabric sticking out on the right side of the patch), but it's close to perfect. It's the best looking DOA patch that I have seen in my 12 years of searching. Even though it's a smaller patch, the details on this are insane. I love how the blue clothing uses negative space to showcase the folds of the outfit and Pete Burns' face was done very well. It looks just like how he appears on the original 1984 single cover for 'Dead Or Alive - You Spin Me Round (Like A Record)'. The only thing that I can't seem to find the original source for is the band's logo here. I think this logo was originally created just for this patch alone.
