oh dear. you know what, live and let live...its a generational thing....we all jump in to metal at a point in time....i do not like slipknot, but then its not my era, as a teenager, you can only get a new scene , if you are there at the moment it happens for the first time. For an older metalhead, the Nu-metal became a global succsess...so it pushed all the old school metal under ground, it never went away, just was not in the spot light. Slipknot had their moment, just as older scene's had theirs, and will again, what goes around comes around....look at the new wave of thrash now, its big time again....give it 10 years, and the kids that loved slipknot will be saying to the new bands....i used to listen to great metal bands...not tjis shit

TBH i don't give a fuck, within slipknots first few years of releasing material it was pure fucking aggression and hate, and they experimented contently because they hated the idea of being another mediaised band of faggots.
Things may have changed over time, but in the start they didn't have very different ideals to some of the bands posted on here,
at least they weren't another faggot posing band to begin with.

I think it's good that we have this "newer" bands because they are helping to keep metal alive. Old school metal is great too but somebody has to carry the metal flag forward to make sure that metal will never die, cause it never will.

I never liked Slipknot myself - That's why I don't give a flying fuck about the whole band. Specially not to sport a patch of them, with this kind of modifying or not.
It's a retarded trend indeed, these kids (although the uploader is anything but a kid, but usually) just suck up every opinion they are taught "this band sucks ass, this you can't listen, these 3 have to be your favourites..." instead of thinking with their own brain.
If you don't like Slipknot's music, don't make it such a big deal in your life.

Although personally as i have mentioned i don't mind slipknots early really hateful aggressive music, especially from their first real demo 'Mate, feed, kill, repeat'
its unbelievably experimental and original and they created their own style, and i don't think there is a single thing wrong or any difference to what bands have done before or will keep doing in the future.
There is a lot of ignorance in the metal world.

They're early work isn't horrendous. But I think why so many metalheads hate Slipknot is because of their lame personas, the fact that they try way too hard to be 'cool' and 'rebellious'. It's more than obvious they turned into a product of their record company. That being said, not many metalheads want to associate with a group like that.
