its been over 15 years at this point since ive done any extensive stud-work. the sloppiness of the top panel is driving me absolutely nuts. do yall think its worth taking everything out and starting fresh? or am i overreacting? at the very least theres definitely a few areas im gonna tighten up but overall i really just wanna take them all out and start again...painful thought haha

If I have a studding area that bothers me I have to re do it or else I will endlessly fixate on it. It just comes with me being overly meticulous and obsessive. So if you're at all like me in that regard I say take the time to fix it.

It looks like you could just rework the right side of the vest's top panel without having to redo the whole thing. If you do decide to start over fresh I agree with the other poster to reinforce that area. It's almost always the first spot to start to tear on any of my denim gear. I typically use pleather but any tough material should work.

It sounds ridiculous but I find it incredibly helpful to use a ruler or measuring tape to at least get the initial first row of studs set up. I'll typically use a piece of white chalk to mark the spot where I intend to insert the studs prongs.

Anyways, good luck and hope any of this is helpful!

yep im exactly like you. the right side is what's mostly driving me nuts so yeah ive already started to rework it.

good call on measuring/chalk, thats a great idea. doesn't sound ridiculous to me, but then again you and i are similarly obsessive so it may to others, ha.
