Mostly interested in traditional metal and NWOTHM type bands (Metallica, Iron Maiden, Attacker, Lady Beast, Eternal Champion, Claymorean), but also into a few black & death metal bands (Cloak, lots of stuff by Grime Stone Records on Bandcamp) and some other random things (Master Boot Record, Lukhash, Khruangbin). Have loved Metallica since my early teen years, but for some dumb reason never really actively looked for other bands until now. My son has helped a lot there, we listen to as much as we can, trade songs, etc. Made my first battle jacket in 2023 in preparation for Heavy Hell IV, a metal festival here in Indianapolis. Wish I'd made one decades ago!
Have seen Metallica numerous times, Maiden once (that was incredible!), a few other bands here and there - really trying to get to more concerts, life is too short to not see awesome bands live! Went to Heavy Hell IV metal fest here in Indianapolis with my son, had a blast and most certainly destroyed whatever hearing I had left. Due to airline prices and schedules, mostly limited to stuff close by but would love to go to Europe for one of the massive fests there.
