Aussie metalhead who was introduced to its magic in 1987. I have a broad appreciation for most metal, although current preferences seem to be Slam, tech-death and even Deathcore. I had an obsessive CD collecting habit for many years that cost me thousands of dollars and thousands of hours. I finally kicked the habit and sold the lot. Slowly but surely, the OCD is creeping back but now lusts after shirts.
Not often nowadays. Marriage, kids and mortgage all combine to restrict my nights out. I class it a victory if I can attend one or two shows a year.
In my younger years, I rarely missed a show. Tours were infrequent so you grabbed what you could. There were several all day events you enjoyed (Livid, Big Day Out among others) but independent tours were hugely exciting. Seeing Slayer and Pantera on their virgin Aussie tours is still a highlight.
