Gnarly! Nice shaping, been a long time since I cut/shaped a patch but you inspired me.

Hell yeah! it depends on the pants or jackets I patch, whether or not I want to shape a patch, sometimes the patch is fine unshaped, aesthetically the jacket or pants call for it, other times I bust out scissors. Shaping does make me nervous though, so I end up buying two of the same patches in case I screw up lol

I hear you! Better safe than sorry. Perhaps not really on topic, but sometimes I use Vlieseline to stiffen or sew a border to flimsy patches, might help keeping shaped patches together. I find that some patches just gets very loose after cutting or trimming them.
