Very weird backpatch. Though it looks cool.
Never seen this before too. Do you have pictures of the backing and a detailed pic of the border?
Looks photo printed too me. π€
karmadh6 on
Hey! Just added some pictures to it now:-)
Yes, it is an unusual backpatch. Maybe a test run?
RottingChris on
It's very unusual.
Normally those backpatches wirh copyright like that were screen printed
karmadh6 on
It is! The other ones I have (and that are known as well) have a different way of printing.
Just saw that you run eddiesbattlevest. That's cool! I was hoping to see it on there hehe.
RottingChris on
Yeah, that's right π
Of course it would be nice to have a picture on EBV. I have a page for contribution: https://www.eddiesbattlevest.com/contribute/
karmadh6 on
Will do:-)

Cheers:-)

100% sure he will π

he just screwed up his post of all icensed 1981-1995 backpatches with this
karmadh6 on
Oof! Wasn't my intention to cause such a stir:-)
Megazero on
ha ha I'm sure this will motivate him even more.
karmadh6 on
Of course we've been in touch:-)
He just gave a great input to it: The layout of this one is very similiar as on the Death - Human backpatches. Of course, the copyright is different, but other than that it does seem to be almost the same. Since I don't have a Human BP myself, I can't speak for the printing technique being the same. But it looks like it.
Some TSS-archeology at X-Mas!

There is a Dismember: Indecent and Obscene and also an Exploited: Massacre patch with the same white bar at the bottom for copyright. It's a rare format for BPs but not unheard of! Seeing an Iron Maiden BP with that caught me off guard. I wonder if there is other Maiden BPs produced by Razmataz, most of them only say Iron Maiden Holdings.
karmadh6 on
Oh wow that's right!
A quick search on TSS led me to this piece Voidcrew owns: https://tshirtslayer.com/patch/iron-maiden-live-donington-1992-iron-maid...
The copyright, "Made in England" as well as the Razamataz lettering are placed the same way as this one here:-)

The following Maiden back patches are distributed by Razamataz:
1992 - Fear of the Dark (https://tshirtslayer.com/patch/iron-maiden-fear-dark-back-patch-1992-blu...)
1992 - Live in Donington (https://tshirtslayer.com/patch/iron-maiden-fear-dark-donnington-back-pat...)
1993 - Hallowed be Thy Name (https://tshirtslayer.com/patch/iron-maiden-hallowed-be-thy-name-vintage-...)
1993 - Real Live One (https://tshirtslayer.com/patch/iron-maiden-real-live-one-back-patch-1993...)
1993 - Real Dead One (https://tshirtslayer.com/patch/iron-maiden-real-dead-one-back-patch-1993)
1993 - Eddie Ripped Face (https://tshirtslayer.com/patch/iron-maiden-eddie-ripped-face-back-patch-...)
1995 - X-Factor (https://tshirtslayer.com/patch/iron-maiden-xfactor-back-patch-1995-versi...)
1995 - Sands of Time (https://tshirtslayer.com/patch/iron-maiden-sands-time-back-patch-1995)
So, basically all back patches since 1992 specifically mention Razamataz.
Megazero on
I have a Human backpatch and a Broken Bones in the same line as those mentioned and I would say that both are photo-printed, and I get the impression that all razamataz maidens after this one are photo-printed as well.
Heavy Metal Chemist on
I agree mate. I'm not at home to check, but I think that the Sands of Time might actually be screen printed. If I remember correctly it has that kind of texture to it.
RottingChris on
It's definitely screen printed ππ€π»

@Megazero: "he just screwed up his post of all licensed 1981-1995 backpatches with this"
That was exactly the first thing I was thinking when I saw this upload ππ It took me many many years to get my hands on 'all the back patches' and within a year my post is outdated ππ
Great to see that 30 years down the line we are still discovering new patches. So nice for the community to completely nerd out on π€ It shows how lively this great community is π€

Tim Preston at Razamataz doesn't seem to know much more about this backpatch either, other than it being original:-)
