I have that same Backpatch on one of my leather Vests, it's survived since like 1988. A little better than yours, but good stuff!

Hmm, I semi retired that vest and it spent a few years wadded up in the back of my car. And now it's started to crack and fray in the same spot... I thought about pillaging this vest for stuff but it's pretty far gone now too.
