I planned to do this for quite a while now. First thoughts began, when I got my hands on that fantastic looking backpatch (some years ago). I always wanted to use it and then thoughts came up: why not making a battle jacket with all the bands that all started it for me. Some of the patches I already had laying around somewhere, some have already been used in former projects (and been removed again), some I bought on ebay.
The hunt for the jacket itself took a while (which was annoying), before I decided to go with a white one this time. (I likes ma jackets in bright denim, don't like dark blue or even black).
On the back, I plan to put on (maybe) 4 more small patches. I have Manowar - Fighting the world, Sepultura - Beneath the remains and Pantera - Vulgar display of power to go on there (and maybe Seasons in the abyss-eagle).
The jacket is obviously not finished yet. There shall be some studs - or some more...
But since I had this week off, I started sewing, because I have been keen on starting for such a long time now.
Anyways, I tried and tried to find the right spots for them patches. The layout you see was the first I thought is ok, but after having sewn the front...Idk...I'm not satisfied with the look. I really can't say why...
.
I know, sometimes less is more, but all the patches (bands) you see were responsible for getting me into Metal back then (mid/late 80s) and therefore mean a lot to me and need to be on that one.
So, if any of you have suggestions...I'd appreciate it.
Cheers! ...and sorry for the long text!
