Okay, so a few more patches arrived. I REALLY WANT OPINIONS ON THE BACK- The Megadeth BP is smaller than I'd expected, and I'm not sure what to do. I was going to cut out the Metallica logo and make a smaller patch from the Ride The Lightning chair, but I'm not sure if this looks better.
Patches are NOT sewn down yet, and the Megadeth and Metallica BP's would need to be trimmed a little first. PLEASE TELL ME WHAT YOU THINK, GOOD OR BAD!
Please tell me what you think of the back, the Megadeth BP is much smaller than I expected (I thought it would be the same size as the Metallica one). Need opinions on what to do!
luckily, I'm only 20 :p and I love both bands, though Megadeth are the better imo. Slayer are my least favourite out of the "big 4", but I love thrash and classic rock. I've been looking for decent Testament and Sodom patches, but can't find ones I like, got Tankard, Darkthrone, Meshuggah, Sonata Arctica, SOAD, Manowar, Unleashed, Immortal and Candlemass on the way. Have a BOA, Warbringer and Thunder patches back home too.
Glad you like it, I think I'll stick with this look. Ideally I'd have the Metallica smaller, but hey ho what can you do?
Just cut off the upper part of the Metallica BP around the band logo and the lower part of the Megadeth BP under the skull thing (including the "Killing is my business...") and sew the BPs both on! And if you also cover the "Ride the Lightning"-writing with the Megadeth BP the two combined BPs wouldn't even be much bigger than a normal BP.
But try to place the Anthrax-Logo just under the Megadeth BP (where nor is the "Killing..."-writing), I think that would look better than the skew placing right now.
Interesting photo-shopping. I was going to trim the top of the RtL and probably the bottom as well, but I'll probably leave the writing where it is. I was Considering trimming the words off of the Megadeth patch and moving them a bit higher maybe. Thanks for the suggestion, but I kinda like the Anthrax patch where it is. I know it doesn't make much sense sooling at it, but I want the jacket to be a bit chaotic rather than all neat with everythinng at the right angle etc.
I'm not going to be sewing them on until just after xmas most likely, as I'm still waiting for some patches and I have a few at home, as well as proper fabric scissors so I can make it neat-ish. To clarrify: I want it to look chaotic, but not tatty- that will come with age!
I'm looking forward to seeing the result! The Anthrax looks also cool where it is. A bit chaos is always good, but at least part of the chaos has to come with age (what you at least partly meant in your post, I think).
Will do, it'll take a while. I guess the chaos comes when you decide to add a load more patches and have to find space, but I don't want it to look all frayed and messy. Aged is fine, but I don't want it to start out looking like I just hacked bits off here and there.
Thanks. Found the denim in a charity shop for £8. Win. Got my leather jacket in a charity shop too, it's got the best lining I've ever seen, and was only £50.
The front has now changed around quite a bit, and sewing is under way, but I'm doing it all by hand which is mega slow, and also making sure I can still get into the pockets, which takes even more time :( Still, should be an update in a while.
yep :D Trimmed the 'Tallica one down, sewing on soon :) As I said, doing it by hand, which is so slow but looks better and is stronger than a sewing machine :)
nirvana patch isn't something u see everyday on battlejackets, so I'll give u credit. Oh, and the fact that ur trimming down ur backpatches is fucking sweet!

You see alot of kuttes with 2 back patches. you could just trim RtL a bit and sew em on like this.
I like this look, 25 years ago you'd be lynched for have metallica AND megadeth on your back but you can do that these days :)
nice patches overall
