Im jordan Velez i live in weehawken NJ and im a christian metal head. The main bands/musicians that i enjoy listening to are mortification, tourniquet, saviour machine, vengeance rising, crimsonmoonlight, judas priest, motorhead, seventh angel, quiet riot, crashdog, marty friedman, iced earth and other stuff.
Well, what can i say?? when i first started listening to metal, it was with metallica, then i got deeper into a whole bunch of sub genres (thrash, death, power, etc etc etc) But my main love was for thrash, i started to listento bands such as megadeth, anthrax, municipal waste, the list goes on. I was also trying to get back on my spiritual side as a christian though, so i started discovering christian bands such as mortification, tourniquet, ultimatum and i was just amazed at how the word of god and metal music went together. I became such a big fan of it that it was all i would listen. Well, now im a metalhead that has gotten way closer to Christ and im thankful for it. I have a facebook group called christian thrash metal alliance and a website also. There are alot of local thrash bands around the area in which i live at, I live in weehawken but in hudson county there are bands such as Remetalisk, Metathorax, Mordor, A deadly Endeavor etc etc.... So there is alot of metal that is still being kept alive around where i live at from deathrash to hardcore. I have met thrashers online from all over the world and its interesting how different cultures all have something in common when it comes to music. Heavy metal music is really amazing when you are talking to someone from brazil, south america, or australia and you know what they are talking about even though their is a language barrier! Cause music is a universal language and the unity of metalheads is what makes heavy metal different from other musical genres.
