You should check any local military equipment retailers if they have old Swedish ammo belts, like this: http://picturearchive.gunauction.com/982125159/6703769/026787c4816ef49a5...

I'm thinking of getting one.

Army Surplus stores aren't a rarity here in the UK; I've had some cool pieces from them over the years that I still use to this day :)

that one is sexy as hell..
havnt really looked at it last time i was at my local army supply store. but from the pictures online they dont have that many pouches. maybe go to Rotterdam someday, i know a pretty big one over there.

I unfortunately tend to destroy everything that i own pretty quickly, so i get army surplus shit if i can cos its sturdy. its usually the best price-for-durability for clothes/pouches i can find...anything higher quality is at least a third more expensive. and it has this handy thing of usually coming in black haha.

gizter's picture

indeed. good quality for decent prices. also like how a lot of it looks, like my M65 jacket.

Yeah, they seem to be very popular among crust/d-beat punx (which is how I found out about the belts). Probably because they give kind of a Mad Max look.

I wonder if punx wear pouches and bum bags because alot of the inspirational punx were squatters, or if its the other way around and loads of squatters wear 'em cos the punx wore em back in the day? ... either way its handy as fuck to have a load of pouches...one for drugs, one for a diary, one for DnD dice...haha.

Ive lunched these trousers out, i cut em into 3/4 length shorts, half-fixed the knees and now i dont wear em haha. :S maybe when its a bit warmer i'll get back to rockin the shorts.

The pockets in my trousers have started falling apart, and getting some pouches will be easier that fixing the pockets... So I'm guessing pouches just came into the scene out of practicality. In my local area "punk" and "squatter" are pretty much overlapping terms anyways (not every punk is a squatter, nor vice versa, but I think it's pretty close to being that way).

This was handy in army: http://a.pomf.se/fhsfwu.jpg since I refused to carry gun around I could use all the pockets for anything I wanted. Like candybars, gloves etc haha.

stenchcore massive's picture

haha put a backpatch on that.

SmirG3l's picture

hahaha :D I once though I'd use some flak jacket and stud it and stuff :P
