35 y/o father of three, living in Birmingham, UK. I'm passionate about thrash metal, punk, hardcore, guitars & amps, nature, etc.
I was introduced to Metallica at the tender age of 8 by my older (and very cool) cousin. He wore a leather jacket with studs, which made him instantly cool in my book. His name was Stewart and he had a lot of time for my younger brothers and I. He would often play Kerrang! videos to us and get us to have air-guitar contests in his bedroom. He even gave us his 'One' VHS video. He was a lot older than us (he would have been 16 when I was 8) so it was pretty cool that he and his friends gave up so much of their time for us kids.
Our dad raised us on Sabbath, Motorhead, Led Zep, Rainbow, Deep Purple, etc. so we were never short of musical influences. I always loved the music my dad played to us but there was something very special about hearing Metallica for the first time.
I used to go to Rebellion Festival every year (aka Holidays in the Sun / Wasted), Blackpool UK. Since having the kids we don't get out much these days!
