This is my attempt at my first ever DIY
I am not an artist at all. I think the goat looks like frank the rabbit from Donnie Darko.
anyways, laugh, leave me one flame. Do what you want.
I love Venom, and I was bored as fuck.
enjoy the laugh!
and any pointers or advice from any experienced artist/DIYer's I would LOVE to hear it!
This is actually pretty decent for a start. Just the goat looks like its having a laugh, other than that its very good. Even the laughing goat renders a certain uniqueness to it!
no worries! and like, it didn't come out the way you wanted, but you didn't get all pissy or depressed about it. instead you asked for tips to get better. really respectable \m/
Hey, I wasn't perfect either when I started. There are many methods including fabric paint, paint markers, stencils (the stencil can be made from poster borad), etc. If I was working on something that was extremely complex for a shirt I would find the image on Google, bring up the image to desired size, put the shirt over the computer screen and then begin tracing it. Make sure you are in a dark room too. Everything will become transparent through the shirt. It helps. For patches, I'm pretty good at free-hand (even really complex stuff) but for shirts, I have to go to certain lengths to get a perfect result. I'm a perfectionist. Also, be very gentle on the screen. I would recommend using a ball point pen. Taping the shirt down helps as well. Oh yeah, don't paint it while it's still on the screen hahaha. I hoped this helped.
hahahahaha well I did a pree ight "Ghoul" logo patch the other day. and right now I'm attempting an "EVILDEAD" (not going so well lolol) don't think i'm gonna bother adding any of those too here :P
well I had the album cover art up in front of me, I tried my very best to draw it with this white marking fabric pencil my mum lent me. then I painted it all in with cheap white fabric paint I got in the clearance section at Michaels.
let it dry, then sewed it on a shirt. boom.
and thanks duude!
in my opinion it's not bad at all!! + i love the black piece sewn on a white shirt ::) one tip, at least for logo's: use stencil! makes it so much easier!
Great effort and with the right d.i.y. attitude, I'm sure you'll pick up some new skills and better ways to approach the shirt process. Venom is a great choice, right own!
