He’s great, but the dude who played on that album (Billy White) was even better, I’ve always thought, even tho he seems to get no recognition much anymore and seems to also have disappeared from sight! Something about that legato-like style.... White had his own style, didnt sound like ANYONE else!
Thanks for that! I’d done a search on him but hadn’t turned up anything.... it’s always amazing somehow to see how much change can happen to ppl, over time....even though it WAS 3+ decades, you still have a sort of picture in your mind of what a person will look like, based, I guess, on stereotypes, which in turn are based often on real life.... I guess I figured he’d look like a lot of again metal guys look, and if he was t still into metal, I figured blues or jazz (‘Tower was always so jazz-influenced anyway...)... but new age/flamenco! It’s not my cup of tea, personally, but he seems authentic and devoted to his art still, and it is nice to see he’s still involved in music!
I don’t guess there is anything you’d part with that shirt for, is there? :-) All of a sudden I decided I need a Watchtower shirt after seeing yours... I’ve liked them ever since buying the Energetic Dis. LP in ‘85. The problem isnt that the versions on eBay are new, but that they LOOK new! Jet black, and the design color doesn’t pop out right...or has other alterations that look odd. Not sure what I can do— I’m not a collector, just want to wear—-therefore don’t care if it’s “vintage” particularly... just that it looks reasonably close to such, and NOT look like this:
Yuck! Maybe I can find a big Watchtower collector... do you know any? Back when their debut came out, I was in high school, and I became PE pals with the singer, Jason M, for a year or so, before he quit the band... I’ve still got the letters he sent. Plus a cassette version “ED” I got from Jason (I’ll never part with my orig vinyl though!) and cassettes he also sent me of Ron J’s audition tape for Watchtower and also very early demos of songs they were writing with Ron at that time (when Ron first joined)... like The Eldritch etc... he also threw on some demos of Texas Slayer, the band Ron had come from, and, I remember, Karrion, another technical metal band from the San Antonio or Austin (can’t remember which) scene.
Thanks again for the Billy (Blanco!) White info—cheers!

Ah, awesome that you used to be in contact with those guys back then and still have that demo/ rehearsal and audition stuff...that's really rare...love to hear that kind of stories !!! Oh man, i really can't part with that stuff....i know for sure i would dearly regret doing so haha....i had a look at Ron's webshop...he used to have a very nice Watchtower shirt with the Demonstrations in chaos artwork up for sale; i have the pocket print but there was also one with a bigger print. Unfortunately right now there's only Blotted Science and Spastik Ink shirts up for sale, but you might want to keep an eye out on his stuff...maybe they do some new ones...here you go https://www.indiemerch.com/blottedscience
I’m interested— depending on actual true size, and price. (The tag says “L”, which makes me think it’ll likely be too small for me to wear; usually only vintage XLs will do the trick— they fit me like a brand-new Large usually would… a little tight, but wearable.
Have you measured it flat on a surface, from armpit seam-to-armpit seam? That’s the measurement that most buyers will want to see, that tells what the fit on a vintage shirt will actually be…if you could provide that, we could see— thanks!
my tee is different than this one. please message me there. i have my tee safely wrapped in my collector's items vault at some other place. i can send you the measurements but i would appreciate it if you send me an estimate of how much you are willing to pay.
