The Secret is an awesome band out of Italy. I wish I could tell you what style they play but it's kind of a little of everything.
This is a shirt I bought directly from Shirtsanddestroy.com around the time Agnus Dei was released in 2012. Absolutely heavy as fuck record by the way and Solve Et Coagula has one of the best guitar tones I've heard in years. Buy them both.
The front artwork is a crest representing death and reads 'Love Your Enemy.' The back is a really cool black on black print of the bands logo. Great quality shirt and prints as always from Shirtsandestroy, it's survived many shows and washes.
I don't think they get the exposure they need being from Italy, and mainly floating around European countries. Unfortunately, there aren't enough people... like you & I... to seek out European bands like them, aside from the ones that have the right avenues to international exposure. A couple of my buddies played a show with them years ago, when they came to the states, but no one knew who they were.
I think I’m more confused on how a band signed to a fairly high profile label like Southern Lord Records (Black Breath, All Pigs Must Die, Nails, Agrimonia, Trap Them, Power Trip, on and on), with albums recorded by Kurt Ballou and have toured with Converge, Power Trip, etc. could possibly be lacking exposure, at least for the current music scene. Would seem like nobody is paying attention, it’s not like anyone would need to dig too hard to find something by them.
But to your point, I really didn’t see the band get decent coverage until the Lux Tenebris EP, which is a shame considering how great the previous two records were. Hopefully they will get checked out a bit more on their next album.
Just keeping digging, supporting what you find and spreading the good word my friend, it’s all we can do!
That's a very valid point, which has left me baffled, as well. Southern Lord is stacked in terms of talent, and recording with Ballou can only benefit. Then again... the fact that there are / were so many talented bands on Southern Lord, and so many talented bands record with Ballou, could very well work against them. I saw a little push for them when Agnus Dei was coming out, but even that was nothing that really moved the needle for them.
Hopefully, they get the recognition they very well deserve, in years to come. But, until then... we can still rage knowing they're out there!
Can't stop, won't stop digging and spreading, Brother!

Definitely a killer band, they sort of fly under everyone’s radar for whatever reason.
