I can imagine! Last time I saw them live was on the Black Sun Tour, so it's been way too long! Just read that they are coming to Graspop so I'm fuckin' siked!
Wow! I've been lucky to have seen them every time they come to New York. Always put on a an amazing show, and I'm right up on the barrier. Ralf shook my hand last night between songs - wouldn't get that at a stadium!!!
That's great! They seem like they are really nice guys! I wore a Manowar-shirt to that gig and Matt gave me the sign of the hammer! And after the gig they went through the crowd to their dressing rooms! The days that I went a couple of times a month to gigs are long behind me being an old fart with responsibilities and all. :-(
They are really nice - I've been to meet-n-greets before - Once I brought a huge pile of SINNER CDs with me and Mat signed every one of them. The whole band is really friendly and they spend time talking with each fan.
I'm an old fart too but still try to get to as many shows as I can!! Young at heart! \m/
That sounds awesome! I know what you mean! The day they take away my music, I just die! I go to a couple of festivals each year, but I try keeping smaller gigs to a minimum. The reason why is a long story that I don't want to bother you with. Anyhew, keep rocking! Metal Is Forever!!!!
I hear you! Many of the great European metal bands only play small venues here in the US - it's criminal. Primal Fear should be headlining stadiums & arenas. Instead they're playing to 150 people in a tiny venue. It's great for me - I'm 3 feet away from them - but I always feel like these bands think no one in America likes them. PF, Gamma Ray, Helloween, Sabaton, Alestorm - etc. - these awesome bands could be selling out Madison Square Garden but instead are playing Stage 48. Ugh!
METAL IS FOREVER!!! \m/
Hey man, I know exactly what you mean, this is also the case in Europe, so I don't think they'll think that they're not appreciated in America. I live in Belgium, a country with only 10 million people and here those bands also play in venues of +- 150 people, so I thought in America at least they would sell out stadiums, but it seems I was mistaken. Metal just isn't that big. Only stadium rockers I can think of are Metallica, Iron Maiden, AC/DC and smaller stadiums: Judas Priest, Whitesnake, Deep Purple. Saxon plays here in the same venues as Primal Fear. So does Grave Digger, Slayer, Megadeth, etc.
Yeah, I mean - there are 10 million people in my CITY, let alone the whole country - I'm sure the band appreciates any gig, but I guess it's just sad that more Americans aren't aware of these amazing European metal bands.
Priest doesn't even play arenas any more over here. They play large theaters, but nothing even close to an arena. You're right - it's pretty much Maiden & Metallica playing huge stadiums. Sigh.
