yeah i think someones relative died and they folded for few years. They will be back!! I like their earlier stuff best though. The first 3 albums are insane!

Really sad for what I’ve read. Yeah the early stuff is legendary but I‘ve been listening a lot to the 2000s stuff lately. Especially The Dreadful Hours, it’s incredibly intense.

ohhh for me the nostalgia adds to it...they are much better now...but i grew up with their first 3 albums and back in the 90's it was top of the world :)) The dreadful hours is much better than the 34%....huge leap forward.

I can totally understand that! I guess you either hate it or love it, but 34.788% really takes you on a trip, i ended up loving it!

ohh "base level erotica" is one of their best songs in my opinion. It was just so different to hear 34% after their first 4 albums. Heroin chik is trippy! Very interesting album. Just different. needed time to adjust :))

i do miss the violin though. it was very different at the time but it wouldn't suit 34%...music is much more modern for that.

It has an almost futuristic sound to me. Very dystopian. I really appreciate the experimental effort but I’m also glad it was a one-off thing. But in the end it remains as a fascinating piece of music!

unfortunately that one off thing lost a huge fan base for years. I know many people who gave up on MDB for following albums too...they thought it was a new direction and will not stray away from it for next dexade or so...and then they all came back :))
