J. Geils Band Vintage "Live In Medford 1975" T-Shirt Owned By J. Geils

J. Geils Band Vintage "Live In Medford July 22nd 1975" T-Shirt, size L. This one of a kind shirt was purchased from Skinner Auctions, who liquidated the estate of J. Geils after his death last year. This and five other shirts were sold that were owned by J. Geils, this being the oldest one that I am aware of. Being a native Oregonian, I thought that it was too cool to pass up! Seemingly never worn, the shirt is still bright in color, it's only blemish being a few small rust stains in the center of the shirt. No tag (other than the auction tag), but what remains of the original indicates that it is a size large.

Hey man, thanks for commenting! I’d be surprised if it was the oldest one on here, but it is probably ONE of the oldest. Concert shirts really didn’t begin to gain widespread popularity until a few years after this, honestly the trend started in the very late 60’s with Jefferson Airplane and Bill Graham, the promoter of Day On The Green (I saw a JA shirt from 1969 once!) but most bands weren’t doing them regularly until at least this time. It’s pretty cool to see something this old though, knowing the history of concert merchandising.
