they weren't really pre-cauldron. that's just like saying possessed were pre-primus. know what i mean?
its more of a separate band that had members that later formed cauldron.

Well maybe so, but still to me Cauldron is from the ashes of Goat Horn, they had to let go a member, kept the band name as a memory and soon after formed another band with somewhat similar style similar theme and even similar logo, and the absolute driving force and decision maker behind both bands has always been Jason Decay. The Possessed example is not really accurate here, this is more like the Mantas/Death issue. But then again that's just my opinion.
