You don't see too much atmospheric/raw sounding black metal worship on here, but DTL have proven to be a bastion of that and it's cool to see some merch. Azgorh's musicianship is sometimes hit and miss for me, but I've got a little collection going, just no shirts
Hey, check out the art for his new album: It's very Lovecraftian and ominous--a big stray away from the usual photo-shoot style of Drowning the Light albums http://darkadversary.com/fromtheabyss.jpg
Thanks for the link, I hadn't seen it before. I think it is a great cover artwork, though not very "black metal", more on a fantasy style...
About the shirt, I'm glad I could find one, and I like their beautiful logo, but too bad there is a huge totenkopf on it, people on the streets are over-reacting to it... I shouldn't care what they think, though.
I think it's good that artwork breaks predictable boundaries though, the worst thing black metal genre can do as a genre, is try too hard to be "black metal" it just ends up being try hard, so I think Azgorh is onto something
as for the totenkopf, don't worry about it too much, people should be more bothered by bands like Der Sturmer who are actually based on dictating the realities and passions of hitlers reich
Most people, unfortunately don't educate themselves enough..if they did, they'd soon realize that the so called "totenkopf" was actually a symbol is use by other armies, way before world war II or the germans touched it: Albanians had it as a symbol, the American marine corp used to have a deaths head symbol for a long time, Scotland did in several of it's regiments...and for some self proclaimed "luciferians" which I believe, Azgorh..does have some ties to...it's a symbol of death and transcendent renewal
but yes, to most..it's just a waffen ss army symbol, shame...
I get given trouble for my Moonblood hoodie, because they assume the cross dial is racist....when it's actually got a lot more to do with celtic symbolism and Proto-Germanic symbolism
