This is a vintage Siebenbürgen "Darker Designs & Images" longsleeve XL shirt. Front side is the album work and back side is the members with the Siebenbürgen logo on the bottom.
Nice shirt. The album is bland as fuck though. Siebenburgen really lost their touch after the first two albums. The track "Skuggor" is pretty much the only song on here that saves it from being totally forgettable.
I definitely agree with you. To me, they're an okay band. There are black metal bands that are better and worse than they are. For the most part, they are pretty forgettable.
I think their album Loreia is pretty amazing. One of the best folk/black metal crossovers I think I've heard in my life. The follow up Grimjaur was pretty good as well. After those two albums They just became another lame Dimmu Borgir/Cradle of Filth-clone. They had some good tracks here and there though,
Agreed on both statements! The first two Siebenbürgen , still sung in Norwegian - are great albums, with preference to the first. After that they became one of these late 90s / beginning 00s Gothic/"Black" Metal Bands in the vein of Tristania, Graveworm, The Sins of Thy Beloved, You name 'em....
Though i sometimes even like to hear these Bands because i grew up with them.
Swedish my friend, Swedish. ;)
And to give credit where credit is due. I think Widow's Weeds by Tristania is a really solid album. But they where sadly another one of those darkened doom bands that started of really strong but then just sissied out.
Ah, of course, i bit Your pardon!
I honestly do only know Beyond the Veil. In our circle of friends we call Bands of these Genre the "Velvet fraction" haha
No worries, I'm just being a smartass. ^^
I do own Beyond the Veil, and have a vague memory of it being at least decent. But I can't say I recall any songs in particular.
aaah well : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2aMZ-7DB0JQ
It has a certain charme, no question about it, like all the bands i mentioned. There was a time were i nearly only listened to bands like this (and the chicks digged it!) so i sometimes still do for the Nostalgia, but .... oh, well haha
Yeah, because those were the bands listened by those (mainly female) Metal People always clad into velvet dresses and so on.
When autumn comes I listen quite a bit to bands like My Dying Bride, Paradise Lost, Tiamat, Tristania, Nightwish and so fort. They have such a great way of embodying the melancholy and nostalgia that the season carries. So I can't say I really have too much against "gothic cheese", even if I have to be in a certain mood to fully take it in.

Haha, that sounds like a pretty fitting label.
