I love Blind Guardian's old album covers, before they fell into that computer generated hellhole that every power metal band seemed to slip into during the mid 2000's. You know when every album cover looked like some cutscene out of an old Windows 95 game?
I totally agree with you on this. That is exactly the reason why I only buy Blind Guardian shirts from the 1988 - 1993 era. I'm not a fan of the music or art after Somewhere Far Beyond. They completely dropped the ball. Battalions of Fear is their best record in my opinion.
I think some of their more recent albums have a few good songs. But I can't say I really have kept myself updated. I couldn't even finish their newest album though, it was completely flaccid and emotionless.

Definitely! You can't go wrong with the first four albums. The Lucifer's Heritage demos kick ass too!
