This shirt is definitely one of the rarest Metallica shirts ever made as there were only 50 of these ever made.
Designed by Mark Devito. He would create this design exclusively for Metallica in ‘89. This shirt is considered the First-Print version of the Cap’ns of Krunch Krew Shirt. These were made and produced to give a preview of what the shirt would look like before they placed the Metallica logo on it.
You can see Jason Newsted wearing this same shirt during their ‘89 Grammy Performance.
Obtained this from a former roadies step-son.
