yeah it is!..hehe.and the CD isnt that bad either. Very 'cross-over' style from where the EVIL come from..hahaha

You really shouldn't make 'jokes'about BM scene in general, for some take it rather higly, may it be a religion they follow. So be careful with the words you put here my friend.Personally I stay neutral in the case, since everyone has an own path too follow.

Really? Black metal's primary focus is anti-religion. Essentially, black metal fans pride themselves on pointing out the flaws in the way other's live their life. So they should be the last ones to get upset when someone makes fun of their culture. Black metal fans don't give a shit who they offend, so why do we have to tread so carefully when talking about them?

Ravishing Grimness's picture

WOW!You know nothing about the BM scene at all,so why even reply! If you would go deeper into the subject you would notice BM has one of the largest spread paths coming to metal music in general. In music, art, and ideology...

Black metal, for the most part, is defined by anti-Christianity. Anti-Christian and Satanic themes are found in the earliest examples of black metal. Obviously not all artists deal with that topic, but everyone knows that anti-Christianity and black metal go hand in hand. Black metal artists who hold Christian beliefs are met with hostility, further illustrating the importance of Anti-Christianity to black metal.

So don't tell me that it makes sense for black metal fans to criticize a group's way of life, but then take extreme offense when someone turns around and does the same to them. This fact has nothing to do with my personal knowledge of black metal culture (which you know nothing of) or the extent of the culture itself, so I'm not sure why you decided to mention those points in your post. Even someone who has only a surface level knowledge of the genre can recognize the hypocrisy of a black metal fan taking offense to criticism of their culture.

Since when has black metal given a fuck about an outsider's opinion of the genre? Any fan that takes offense to jokes directed at black metal culture needs to take a step back and recognize their own stupidity.

i guess..the most active ppl here..know alrdy my point about BM :D i dont mind it, but dont isten to it.
Its not the music, not the lyrics..the most here know alrdy: the SCREAMS drives me nuts.. :P
No idea who told 'em..'high screams' are more evil then 'deep growls' but i guess..its only a point of view :D

im a die hard black metal fan and i love cracking jokes about the more over the top aspects of black metal. I also dont get offended at all when people joke or seriously talk shit about the genre, i could really care less. There are bigger and more important things to discuss then that

LaUlvenDrepe's picture

Although I've studied and read about the history of black metal many times before, I haven't read this book. I don't think I'm going to either, to be honest.

But... THAT poster!!! Hot damn! It's a thing of beauty. Five church burning flames just for that!
