Perhaps not in the realms of what's considered metal. But if Pink Floyd and Status Quo rocks hard enough to gain admittance here I don't think this release stretches it too terribly far.
It's pretty cool to hear the creators of one of my favorite comic books making music. While I can't see much of a crowd for them outside of the few who cares enough about Omaha to check this out. I can't deny that there are some tracks that aren't half bad. They Call her Omaha, Catseye, Kiss and a Knife, Cinnamon Jam and Wildcat are some of the standouts.
My only real gripe is that outside of a few songs, this really doesn't have anything to do with the titular character. It feels like she was just slapped on to increase sales. I still think it's a cool thing to have from a collectors standpoint. But the music itself, apart from a couple of highlights is just too "okay" to stand on it's own. It's a decent listen for sure, there is nothing inherently bad about the album. But apart from the novelty of the whole thing I don't think I would've bothered.
