Time for a TSS history lesson! Back in the early 70s, there was a very short lived scene/niche called rural rock. This subgenre merged the hard edged psychedelic riffs of the late 60s with elements of blues, country, and folk. In other words, imagine a westernized version of what Wishbone Ash was doing at the time, but with lyrics about farm life instead of fantasy. Noah is one such example of this style. Produced by Randy Bachman (The Guess Who, BTO), their second album, Peaceman’s Farm, is essentially if CSNY and James Gang had a baby. Sounds strange, doesn’t it? Take a listen for yourself!
