The self titled debut from Stockholm Sweden's own, Head of the Demon. I fucking LOVE this album, it's somewhere straight down the middle between doom and black metal (a lovely mix).
To be honest I kind of just heard of them on the same day I bought the record :/
I was just browsing through Hell's Headbanger's looking for another band that a friend recommended, and since they didn't have them, I took a look at this because I just liked the artwork. The art was what drew me in, but I really liked them when I looked them up online so I immediately bought it.
It's not a band that's "for everyone", but hey man you might like them!
Thanks for the comment!
Slash that! I found the name of the artist and the name of the artwork... it turns out it was on the insert that came with the LP. Anyway, it's called "La Chimère de Monsieur Desprez" by Louis Jean Desprez. The drawings on the back are by some guy called Timo K.

I wish I had a good reply for you Doc, but I've tried looking it up and I can't find any details on the artist. Shite!
