I'm not really collecting metal LPs (my vinyl is mostly jazz and fusion and psychedelic etc) ...but here's a few of the ones I've kept. A lot of my rare stuff (Celtic Frost, Sodom, Nasty Savage, Possessed, Bathory) I've already sold to more serious collectors.
That Fates Warning 'Spectre Within' is signed by the band members (from that tour - John Arch!) - so that's a keeper for me.

Nice. Spectre Within is my favorite from Fates Warning, though Awaken the Guardian would come in a close second.

thanks...as much as I'm a fan of Fates Warning, I never owned 'Night On Brocken' on LP...and I wish I had both covers (the witch at the stake burning, and the fantasy/countryside scene) on vinyl. Maybe someday.

I went to see Fates Warning on the Spectre Within tour. They were opening for Motorhead at the City Gardens, Trenton, NJ. We stood in line outside the club, but apparently Motorhead's truck broke down and it was their PA system, so the show was canceled. Fates Warning were cool and came outside and just greeted all the fans in line.

Fates have been super cool guys, no doubt. I saw them on tour to support 'No Exit' and Ray Alder was sick as a dog AND STILL RULED as a vocalist, gave a killer performance even w/ a cold! I raved about it here, if you are at all interested:

I know how that feels. I've only ever had to perform sick a handful of times, but when you hit that stage, usually adrenaline will take over. I played a show one time in Texas with a fever over 100degrees. Yikes! When the promoter and stage manager found out how sick I was they were ticked.
