Burzum - hvis lyset tar oss SIGNED CD

Ok so, I still can't believe I have this, don't get me wrong, I'm still really doubtful, but let's deconstruct what I have found for now, the first thing I did was go to discogs, so let's talk about the authenticity of the CD first, as you can see on the last photo, the CD matrix numbers are not the same as the original 1994 one, so it must be a bootleg, but it still doesn't correlate to all the other bootlegs on discogs, so I'm not sure. Now about the authenticity of the signature, on discogs it says that one signed copy of the CD exist, is it what I have here?! No because for what it is, I didn't pay that much, and since I don't think I will ever sell it I'm gonna tell you, I paid 90€, for what it is (if it's the real deal) it's really not that much right?? And it doesn't seem to be printed on, look like real ink.
So to conclude, I'm not sure about the CD authenticity and the signature seem real but could have been done by someone else, which is why I'm still doubtful. If you have any information let me know.

I couldn't tell for sure if it's authentic or not, and if it's really Varg's signature or not, but one thing for sure: this album is a masterpiece of old-school Norwegian Black Metal, and that signature on the cover makes it look astonishing!!

Hahaha thanks man, appreciate it, cheers!!

Sadly I don't think it is an authentic signature... someone here actually had Varg's signature on something, I think it was related to his role playing game (can't find it at the moment) but it looked quite different if memory serves. Nonetheless always nice to see a copy of this classic album, especially if it's a pressing unseen on Discogs + Metal Archives!

Well he had several different signature but one of them looks like mine, and on one of his video where he give to a guy named Nathan (if I remember correctly) a copy of the original dsp debut album pressing (CD) signed by him after losing a bet, the signature looked pretty similar to what I have here (look at the channel "varg vikernes re-upload) but my main doubt is if it was done by him or not, the signature look similar enough for me, and thank you!

You could reach out to him and ask? He's active on Twitter almost every day. He might remember, I can't imagine he's signed that much stuff throughout his life, since whatever was not spent in prison has been in the French country side and obviously no live shows.

Yes I know, but I don't have a Twitter account, and I don't want to create one just for that, so if one of you guys who reads this have a Twitter account and are willing to ask him that, be my guest, it would be cool of you.

I have a signed Hvis lyset tar oss LP (2008 BoB Repress)
Bought it about a year ago from a french guy on ebay for 140€. He had various signed CDs and LPs up for sale ranging from Nu Metal to Norwegian Black Metal.
I asked him about where he got it from and told me he had collected it in person in Paris. Presumably when Varg was on trial for terrorism a few years ago. Theres a few pics online where he can be seen signing stuff outside of the court building.

I too compared it to all available Varg signatures that exist and it definitely looks very similar! If it happens to be a fake then it its spot on!

I maybe bought it off the same guy as you, he was also French (since I bought this CD off a French app) and had other things signed (by one or all the band members) for sale, and he did told me if I remember correctly that he got it from him during his trial in Paris, what I find "unreal" is not the fact that stuff signed by varg exist (like you said during his trial he signed a lot of things) it's for how little he sold it for

Its always a little bit of a gamble if the autograph isnt officially verified or has been collected in person. And as you said its pretty damn cheap for being a signed Burzum CD/LP. Varg never signs anything and is just living a quiet life in the countryside and has ended his musical career a few years ago. I doubt reaching out to Varg directly would clarify things... even my autograph never looks absolutely identical and he probably doesnt know where and when he has signed which pressing.

Legit or not it definitely looks cool and if it happens to be a fake then it is as close to an original as possible. Plus you didnt spent a fortune on it! ;)

Yeah you are right, if it's not real, that's ok, it's still cool, and if it is, very lucky me I guess haha, thanks man

These cds made in Russia not more than couple of years ago.
The trial took place way before that if i remember correctly mate
I really doubt that this is a legit signature there as chronologically the cd made after that time period

Damn, well it is maybe the copy that was signed in 2019 like it is said on discogs (because I re-read the conversation I had with the seller and he just said that it was done in France), but idk.. must have been a scam I think, ho well too bad I guess, thanks for the help George
