The highly anticipated return of the most promising new death metal band. Blood Incantation are truly a league of their own. This is the LP + CD, Album edition from Century Media, featuring tons of amazing artwork
Not for me and others who listened to electronic music in the 90s when metal pretty much died.
Also, to be frank, I find both BI's music and booklet overfraught and a bit pretentious. Flaunting all these symbols, in these quantities, in an album booklet has more to do with vanity than with the spirituality they claim. I noticed the same in a Hinduism-themed Cult of Fire album. It's like when Lee Perry put out a Bruce Lee themed Dub album while he was high on pot all the time, or like movie nerds discussing firearms they know mainly from the movies.
In case of living traditions it's also a bit disrespectful towards the subject.
That's why I enjoy the plain and simple Alec Empire album booklet more.
Interesting perspective. I understand your point of view about bands that put too much efford trying to persuade us how much they are into the "occult" and "esoteric/spiritual cirlces", it's certanly a thing with some new black and death metal bands. But in the case of Blood Incantation I have to disagree. I really like their aesthetic and the way the present it. I was surprised when I saw that this booklet was dedicated just for artwork and thanklists.

This Bruce Pennington painting was already used in another album cover, Hypermodern Jazz 2000.5 by Alec Empire (also in Atari Teenage Riot).

Didn't know that. I think it's safe to say that from now on this painting will forever be associated with Blood Incantation though
