Requires no real in-depth description. Quorthon's influence on Black/Viking/Folk Metal is comparable to the levels of influence Priest and Maiden have had on Heavy/Power/Speed Metal. Thanks to Black Mark for creating these discs and thanks again to Last Rights Records for stocking & selling them to me!
By the way, the reason I include 1996's Blood on Ice in this era of Bathory's history is because that album was recorded in February and October of 1988 and in June of 1989. The material was just shelved for a while.

Blood On Ice is all unused outtakes basically? HOLY SHIT, that is one damn good record too, I can't those songs didn't make the cut on other albums!
Joel on
No, it's not unused outtakes. Quorthon was happy with the results, he just decided to shelve the material for a while since he felt that releasing even MORE material during those golden years prior to 1992 would've been overkill. If he had released it earlier, then that would've been seven albums released in eight years!
