It's finally here!

The original first press of Autopsy's masterpiece - Severed Survival (all the way from 1989). This is the original artwork chosen for the album. Nice and gory... and a little sexy, haha. Nah... just kidding.

Classic and top notch death metal for your viewing pleasure ;)

Thanks man. It took a little while longer than expected to get here, but hey, I'm just glad it's here, period. I'm listening to it right now, actually.

I have to say, although as you know I prefer the other cover art for the very same reasons you mentioned, I was pleasantly surprised at how this one looked as well. It looks much better in person, to be honest. I don't know if it's the camera or something, but yeah... much better looking in person as you hold it in your hands. It has it's charm.

Right now I'm eyeing another vinyl. I don't know if I am going to be able to get it or not, it all depends on whether I win or not tomorrow (I don't want to say what it is, because there might be spies here who want to outbid me, haha). But even if I don't win, I have a backup planned.

But it's a good one, and it's a black metal gem (well, for me anyway. It's kind of underrated). I'm slowly turning this place into VinylSlayer, one LP at a time, haha.

No, I don't have it. For a while, I wished I did have it. I wanted it for a long time, but recently I decided not to spend a lot of money on rare and expensive short albums. It's just not worth it. Sure, it's awesome and rare as hell, and of course a HUGE historical piece, but there is just not enough music there to spend hundreds of dollars on, you know? That's pretty much the reason why I don't have Aske, and Zyklon-B's Blood Must Be Shed. Although that one has been reprinted and is available for cheap.

But anyway, I don't have a clue to how many CDs were distributed, but the vinyl version was limited to 1000. They were sent out by Deathlike Silence Productions with lighters with the album cover printed on them.

I don't think I'm much help on this one, because honestly I don't pay much attention to CDs, but of course... this is the cheapest of the two solutions.

No problem dude.

This cover fits the music better, I think, it's more primitive and sick.
About spending huge amounts on records, it goes far beyond buying the music. It's more a matter of "want to have it" and the music itself comes last. When you're in that stage, I think you need to sit down and evaluate your life...

edit: Or caring so deeply about the music you want all of it. I don't know it remains a difficult but interesting point.

Trust me, I understand that "want to have it" mentality all too well, but the fact of the matter is that you can't get a Burzum Aske EP on vinyl for less than $400, and it only has three songs!

Now, I can't speak for others... but I'm not rich, and I don't think it's worth it anymore for that small amount of music. Sure, it's nice to have that huge slab of history in your hands, but man if you simply can't afford it then you can't afford it. It's that simple. Sometimes you just can't get everything that you want.

I think that the other cover fits the music well too and i like it much more. This is still fucking awesome!
