How many digital-only albums have you bought this year?

I mean like from bandcamp, where it comes as FLAC format (CD quality)

In my eyes digital music sucks.^^ Never bought digital only and never ever will do! Even got back to vinyl about 10 years ago. CD is fine but will never reach the vinyl. I need something in my hand to play music. And i don't buy expencive hi-fi equipment to plug a hard drive on it :-/

The only way to listen to digital music, how lossless it ever is, is my partyroom in the basement, where smoke and beer don't worry about digital music. ;-) Sometimes internetradio, but not so often.

only one I've purchased is Morbid Angel "juvenilia" - the live set recorded in England in 1989 - the album is only available on vinyl and i wanted to be able to put it on a CD-R to keep in the car. i usually like to have a hard copy of albums i feel are worth paying for but honestly i have a hard time seeing Juvenilia as a step forward in the alphabetical chronology of Morbid Angel's discography, not only because the last album was so bad and the subsequent dissolution of the band's lineup makes me feel that this band is all but dead but mainly because this particular live set has been available on video for over 20 years, and probably bootlegged to hell and back so for earache to go and release it officially as the bands' next album feels more like a cash grab to me.

I don't get all the whining about digital releases. As long as I get to listen to the music, that's all that matters. I buy LPs mostly because of the packaging (artwork in a more suitable size than CD). Plus, digital releases means the band gets 100% of the profit without any of the costs of pressing records/CDs/etc.

With that said, some digital releases have such absurd prices nowadays that it's really more worth it just buying the physical version. This year I've only bought a handful of releases: Sanguine Sodomy Eโ€‹P by Flesh SS (digital only), Lumen Per Lumen by The 135 (digipak long sold-out), Edict MMXIV by Vesicant (was a free download but I've put some money in), and the The Spawn of Satan collection for Jim Sadist's medical expense fund (RIP). I was about to buy a bunch of Chaos Echoes' out-of-print releases until NWN announced future vinyl releases coming up.
