Have you ever crowd-surfed at a metal show/gig ?

i haven't "got up" for a few years now, and i believe it is frowned upon, in lots of places nowadays. i have some great memories though. dives off the stage and surfing (also known as "cattle dogging" in australia) to great bands such as KREATOR ,CARCASS and MORBID ANGEL. just getting a "leg up" in the crowd and surfing it til the end, usually to the front of stage , but not always! sometimes back again or even sideways .

while seeing evile at sonisphere this year i crowdsurfed from about the middle of the bohemia tent to the front, i went over the barrier in an upside-down sitting position and fell off (about 8 feet) head first. luckily a security dude caught me before i smacked my head off the steel step on the other side of the barrier :P

Not yet. I've been to big venues mostly, so there wasn't really much going on. Which sucks, because when I see bands like Iron Maiden, Slayer, or any other 'major' metal band, they always do the huge venues where I live so it's almost always seating area. But at the club shows I've been at the bands I've liked always tour with shitty deatchore bands, so very few people go there to see the death metal bands, and there's hardly even a pit much less crowd surfing. Hopefully one day I can go to JUST a death metal show with NO SHITTY DEATHCORE BANDS!

Crowdsurfing is awesome, first tried it when i saw Slayer in Adelaide Australia in 2007. A guy tapped me on the shoulder and put his 2 hands up as if to say do you want a lift up, i agreed and it was so much fun. I crowdsurfed a total of 7 times that gig, got to the front and over the barrier every time. I've also crowdsurfed at a few other gigs as well. I even went stage diving for the first time when i saw Napalm Death about a week and a half ago. I can tell you i actually like stage diving more than crowdsurfing but both are awesome to do, if you get the chance to crowdsurf at a metal gig DO IT because it's so much fun.

I have medical reasons to not go in the pit or crowdsurf or stagedive, however I was the first one pushed at an Exodus show and that started a crazy moshpit. But if I could go into them without the risk, I would.

Whenever a Band has no security i would. last time was gwar. but also saw Kreator and Ratos De Porao a bunch of times where you could stage dive and crowd surf. i love to do that. It´s Fun

Stage diving is freaking awesome when i went to thrasho de mayo 5 i dived for the first time and it was just the best feeling ever, until you drop on your head haha

Crowdsurfing is very cool, stage-diving is KILLER!!! If you see the chance of getting on stage.. CLIMB IT AND DIVE IT!

Crowd surfing sucks! When I go to see a show, I want to see the show. I'm there to watch the band perform. I am not there to beat the hell out of people or be kicked in the head by some sweat jerk crowd surfing over my head. My 2¢.

Just don't stand in the front part of the crowd, and definitely not near the pit... Normally there are only a few people in the pit anyway and the majority just stands around.

The mosh pit is something different. I choose to go into it or not. Crowd surfers expect everyone to catch them while they kick people in the head or fall onto some unsuspecting person. Screw that! I paid my money for the show and I want to enjoy it. Most venues don't allow crowd surfing anymore anyhow.

Seriously! My phone almost fell out of my pocket when I was in the pit at a Vital Remains show. Ever since then, I've been reluctent to mosh again, but I'll just leave it in my car next time.

i was crowd surfing at a punk show, the song ended, everyone got lazy all in one accord and dropped me on my head! it was pretty bad ass, i liked it haha

oooooo i remember my first maiden show i was soooo high. crow surfing . it was awesome . only problem its that thw venue had separated areas for the people . so there was a gap betwen so i was in the second area and i ran out of people and fell to my head haha.

Best fucking time ever! The last time I got up was a couple months ago at the HeavyTO fest, and somehow ended up briefly surfing through Slayer's pit! I thought I was dead for sure haha

I think it's very rude to be a big, fat, sweaty, shirtless slob and then jump up on everyone forcing us to hold you up. I let them fall, it's my choice.
