Status Quo oh oh oh oh patch

Vintage woven shaped Status Quo patch with a (slightly loose) fretboard design. I first saw this one on leswhite's legendary denim and have been after one ever since. Unfortunately, I don't know much about this one, but the type of backing suggests it might have been produced somewhere around the early 80s (although I could be way off). If anybody has any information on this cracking patch do please share it in the comments!

A classic! Mine is already sewn on my WIP Quo tribute jacket. Most of the patches with this style of backing I used to own came from late 70s/80s deadstocks.
My theory always was that this patch was a reference to the most used fans' chant during live gigs, but I never did the musical transcription!

It's lovely isn't it? I'm keen to see the results of that project, so I hope you're making good progress! I thought similar, which is why I guessed early 80s. You are probably on to something with your theory too, as that would be my best guess!
