Really cool. I saw Stormwitch in 1986 in Stuttgart and let me sign the Vinyl-Lp "Stronger than heaven". Unfortunately, no poster and no ticket. There would be only 50 people and the entrance checked with stamps ... Nice, that you have the poster. Is really rare.
So I have no memory of Stranger. I did not particularly remember them. Stormwitch were great, though. Too bad that the international success (with the exception of Eastern Europe) was missing. Why did not they arrive in the US?
Stranger is great, particularly “The Bell” who would later feature members of Power / Speed Metal band, Chroming Rose.
Stormwitch definitely should of been bigger all over Europe. Bad record label and promotion maybe, not sure. They were big in Hungary though as they have a pretty cool concert video where the fans are going crazy for them. I love their first four albums. The U.S. was already very saturated with Metal bands, and by the time they put out “Walpurgis Night” most people have already moved onto to Speed Metal and Thrash.
