I did it straight down but it was so wide (I bought the wrong size) that the sides stuck out from my kutte, and it looked stupid.

personally I dont think it looks band hanging out of your vest, i wear 3/4 shirts and just normal tees under mine most the time

I don't mind if it's a full tshirt, but when it's like 3 inches of cloth just sticking out awkwardly, it bugs me.
