Moonblood: Blut und Krieg hood(unofficia) + Tapes

While It seems impossible to find the original Blut und Krieg on wax, it's an essential album in the Germanic hordes of black metal. It's so powerful every time I listen to it, cold...winds of ancient, honor,death...mysticism...etc! At my friends place we kind of worship black metal. So, this is my way of honoring such a release. However, I was able to obtain some other tapes in trade for some old French black metal and Graveland and low and behold I was finally able to obtain some physical Moonblood music. I'm kind of confused as to why anyone would want to trade any Moonblood away, but it's a powerful band. I would do anything to obtain Blut und Krieg the LP, but because it was so limited I had a better chance searching for other albums or demo's..I was surprised to stumble upon anyone willing to sell or trade Moonblood, as really all their work is hard to come by(anybody who knows the legacy of bands like Moonblood or Mutiilation or Belketre, is aware they limit their releases).I also wanted to bid on a trade for Katharsis/Moonblood and Abyssic Hate split with Det Hedenske(United by Heathen Blood) but I didn't have anything else to offer the traders.... -__-

None the less, this hoody is a clean design and fine quality from HHR, while it's not underground or a limited official hood from Occulta himself, I think it's safe to say this does the album fair justice.
Hail Moonblood.

*Extra notes*

3rd photo: Sorry about the photo quality, it seems blurry now when I'm looking at it. This isn't my usual camera, I am borrowing other people's cameras for the time being until I buy a new one, as for the Moonblood logo, it appears on the back side of the hood.

The cassette- "Worshipers of the Grim Sepulchral Moon" was traded for some old Graveland I had, and the Peste Noire tape was traded for Vlad Tepes. The the Moonblood tape is a lot better on side B(starting with 'Then Came the Silence') then on side A, but overall both are quite pleasing, I have yet to listen to all of the Beastcraft(numbered 246//) EP, but the band is promising as I do have one of their more recent full lengths on album, they are definitely a frontier force in a dwindling Norwegian black metal scene, alongside greats such as Blodsrit and Mare.

I wanted the re issue of Peste Noire's work here 'Lorraine Rehearsal', but the white and black one is for some reason more open to obtain than the re issue, it's because on the re issue there is a bonus track of sorts on side A....but I'm not sure if it's a reherseal piece or something else.....side B is pretty much one track, 'Phalènes et Pestilence' ...most people know this piece of music from La Sanie des Siècles - Panégyrique de la Dégénérescence , but it is this alternative version that speaks wonders for the ambiance within the music. This song truly sounds raw, but it blasts forward with hyper aggression...then out of nowhere, all life is sucked out of the very mood. It's a song that varies so much in tone, it truly seems to be the very reflection of black metal wrath. Famine's vocals are up to the usual par, but the drum work and organ effects, while not being unique, really craft this as a powerful piece.

****Please ignore the random photo of the Mitochonrion insert** it was a photo I took for another group, but I can't find the other half of it...I also recently obtained their split with Gyibaaw, but I forgot I included it in these photos.......it's nice and red though! aha.

Cool!! I ordered a Moonblood longsleeve from HHR a long time ago and it looked and felt like vinyl printing (which I hate) hows the hoodie print quality for this?

Tico Tyrant's picture

It seems like a standard print....I don't think it's anything special, but the back logo on the back part of the hood, feels thicker, so maybe it is...either way I'm taking good care of this one.

I love Moonblood! So powerful, it gets you lost in it's dark music!
I would love to own this beauty!

I agree, now the challenge for me is to maybe acquire more physical copies of the music, if I lucked out once, perhaps it could happen again, but if not, either way....it is as you say a powerful band, so yes, quite important!

Thanks.

Ahaha...get this, according to random person on the bus earlier today, it's my hoody that causes racist violence in youth and I should be ashamed....I had a good laugh at that one....See, the amount of stupidity that emanates from some parasites truly boggles my mind, but it's also pleasing to know that the idiots can be weeded out for what they are......ignorance is pathetic....

Yeah, mine is just HHR, but I think your friend has the original ones, though for some reason I didn't know there was ever official long sleeves or hoods for that album or from the band. For example, even after years of music since then, just getting the material and music from Moonblood is hard enough. Wow that's a good print though, album cover is too small on the front, but I like the sleeves.

hahah well played, but of course I did mean actual physical copies...anyone can go onto youtube and make an mp3 copy, but few people will be able to obtain lp's or tapes that are old, official and play at an odd rate of speed......yes....that's better than an mp3... XD

Blüdrayne's picture

yeah, that is true. in an ideal world i would get all physical. i'd love to. but i usually cant afford it. That's just the sad reality man...

I know what you mean, to me...it's a simple but effective design. I would like to see an official Moonblood ls on e bay, worth buying..I have yet to stumble across any.

My next catch will likely be a Dissection hoodie.

There is just something about White Power Black Metal's sound that is just totally unique and powerful.
Great band! besides the politics

I wouldn't exactly put Moonblood in the category of "white power" black metal...very pro Germanic, yes...and there's a few splits with other bands with their lyrical base shifts towards pro German attitude over other cultures, but essentially Moonblood is raw, cold, satanic and occult black metal....at least to me it is, nothing more, nothing less. Then again, all I own physically is 1 tape. So meh, I digress.

A friend of mine actually has a picture with occulta from moonblood (having his eyes blacked out) doing the S.H. salute together..think you should do your research more and understand just because a band doesnt promote such in their music does t mean theyre "distant"..

DevilzForce's picture

a celtic cross is NOT a white power symbol, Moonblood has always distanced themselves from that...

Tico Tyrant's picture

Precisely. Ukranian, Germanic and even early Mayan people's all have versions of sun dials, representing different virtues and expressing personal symbolism. The Celtic are no different. The unfortunate downside to some Caucasian idiots, is that they become white supremacist, or integrate into ns/neo-nazi groups...yet adopt symbols that have nothing to do with their cause, thus tarnishing the symbol's actual meaning. The same thing happened to many Runic symbols when Hitler came into power. It becomes a tricky situation for some bands that adopt these emblems for other purposes.

Sun wheel does not = Swastika

meh
my rant is done, I've been told I'm a promoter of radical racism for wearing this hoody, yet I've got roots from Spain, Costa Rica and other areas of Europe...so apparently people are just becoming more ignorant of their own roots and would rather be sheep of the mass social paranoia that exists all around us.

DevilzForce's picture

educate people rather than letting it slide ;)

Tico Tyrant's picture

Naturally, however...when trying to do so, one of three things usually happens
1- I am labelled as annoying/verbose
2- I am disregarded due to the fact I am not from those countries of issue, therefore I 'wouldn't know about the historical aspects of the subject matter'
3- I am considered an elitist
:s
but eh, I'll keep what you said in mind!

DevilzForce's picture

personally i don't care these days about shit like that, i got better things to do than argue with wittless worms ;)
but i understand your point as it is just a pain in the ass to get confronted with that shit on a regular basis, i get thee same shit with my blasphemy hoodie (back says black metal skinhead) and me shaving my head doesn't help hahaha

Tico Tyrant's picture

aye!

mookid's picture

where do you even get this?? This is like the only picture of a Moonblood hoodie on the entire internet
