METALLICA Ride The Lightning original -cut-off- sweater (French issue, mid-80s).
Here's an official French issue by Carnaby Street Paris, which was very active with official, licensed t-shirts back in the 80s. Credit line is here but the tag is indicipherable.
Judging by the green colour which dominates the design, it's most probably been modeled after the (in)famous Bernett issue of the vinyl with its green misprint (SB 18026). It would thus possibly date the sweater of 1984 or 1985, before a proper blue print version of the album was issued by New Electric Way in 1986.
The original raglan sleeves have been cut off by a former owner, and neatly hemmed.
Vibrant, quality design and print as is usual with Carnaby. Happy me!
I have a t-shirt with the same design (blue not green) and the famous James Hetfield picture with Flying V and F*** Off t-shirt as a backprint. My shirt doesn't have the Carnaby credit line but it says Carnaby Paris on the tag.

This is a beauty, truly a fabulous find! It looks to have held up very well from construction to print quality.

Cheers mate! That's Carnaby for you - especially when it comes to print quality. I've always been amazed by their items so far.
