well time to think back to that first time you saw your first show concert, whatever, me due to hairmetal phase was bon jovi then after that i went to the stadium tour (def leppard, motley crue, joan jett, poison,)
Sure it was! The Venue was called “Catedral del Metal” (The Metal Church or something like that ) cause’ there were so many thrash and Death metal gigs at late 80’s early 90’s. In fact, Demolition Hammer played If Im not wrong their first International gig rigth there with Cancer (UK).
Heiderroosjes 9th of september 2001 (punk band from the Netherlands)
My first Metal concerts couldn't be better 🤘😁🤘
Iron Maiden - Bospop 2005 on their amazing 'Early Days' tour, playing some stone cold classices from Iron Maiden, Killers, Number of the Beast and Piece of Mind....What an amazing concert!
hm...my first gig i saw (from a band with at least 1 album and/or international knowing) was:
Disastrous Murmur - Album release party to Rhapsodys in red (1991 or 1992 it must be...i think)
My dad said "wanna see the Beatles" when I got home after school. I was thinking he was talking about going out to the airport to see them arrive? It was windy, wet and miserable so I said "No". Later my father "better give the tickets to someone else" and the penny dropped. Much panic but we got there! Like many, I had a couple of 7" singles 45 rpm and a huge fan. Obviously never seen anything like it and pretty awestruck. Yeah a couple Vox AC 100's guitar amps on stage didn't cut through the constantly screaming girls much but down near the front we could actually hear them and see them! My father was into boxing and knew someone there so was very lucky indeed. 😅
Haha trust me, wild screaming pre-teen girls is not a pretty sight. 😂 "Beatlemania" was a weird phenomena of the times. Luckily Jim Marshall came along and the stacked backline was born. First metal gig would be '71 Ian Gillan Deep Purple followed by the loudest being Led Zeppelin '72 and Black Sabbath '73🤘
LOL 😂 It really was all new and exciting. 🥰 Here's my. Setlist FM of many of the concerts attended. Been a great ride and still going. Kreator next week!. 🤘 https://www.setlist.fm/concerts/SurfingCronulla
my mum dragged me to an engelbert humperdinck concert sometime in 1984 or so....I'm still a huge fan today!
that aside (if I discount a local heavy metal band called R.I.P. which played at the village fair in 1990), it was Black Crowes / Mötley Crüe / AC/DC / Metallica in Basel in 1991, which was the first show for which I actually bought a ticket and went to myself
1988 AC/DC Blow up your video tour Brussels Vorst Nationaal

It was a baptism of fire for sure! Incredible crowd too, really partisan Motor-maniacs as you might imagine. I think they were touring the 1916 album at that point, which I really like (probably why I went to see them, in fact, lol)
motley crue bored me to death but def leppard woke me up
and poison and joan were very sweaty cause it was like 90 degrees and i was dressed in my old vest and a leather spike bracelet and the stadium was packed no pit sadly
1976, I saw the Phoenix Symphony Orchestra. I don’t remember what they played. I had a good time though. And then I saw an opera, 1977. Don Giovanni. Another good show. First rock concert I saw was 1982, a Seattle band, Rail. They were great.
Autopsy, Bolt Thrower and Pestilence. February 1990 in ‘t Beest in Goes, the Netherlands. I had just turned 14 and went with a friend who’s father drove us there. Legendary gig and I remember being blown away by all the bands but Bolt Thrower especially. I think shortly after that it was Gorefest, who were a local band. It was before the release of their Mindloss album but they already were quite a big deal in the scene.
My first concert was Iron Maiden (Somewhere On Tour) at Providence Civic Center, Providence, RI, USA on 30 March, 1987. UFO bassist Pete Way's band at the time, Waysted, was the opener. To think that I saw Pete Way and Steve Harris at my first show and somehow didn't become a bassist is insane!
The wiggles, 2016 (I think). But my first metal show was megadeth and in flames march 2023. Most of the bands that I’m into don’t come out to Australia very often
