Using metal as an unusual motivation tool.

I know a lot of us use metal to help motivate ourselves, whether it be hitting the gym, going for a run or getting through a hard work day or house work. But I was curious if anyone uses metal as a motivational tool for something out of the ordinary. Power walking with a pet Chihuahua. Extreme flower arranging. An intense Croquet tournament. What activity do you find is helped by blasting heavy metal that many might not expect…….

I like to go to sleep with metal playing, it helps me relax

I’m the same. It can be the heaviest death or black metal and it can really sooth my mood.

I like doing the ironing while listening to metal.

Anything, really. Planting potatoes and transplanting squash out of the compost pit sucks less with some Akitsa. Cake decorating pairs well with Agent Orange (the album, not the band). I can scrub the hell out of a litter box to some Swedish OSDM.

I also basically unpack boxes for a living and if my musical accompaniment can be described with "I'm fast as fuck boiii," I myself become fast as fuck, boiii.

Yeah cool. I love gardening and have a few albums that really get me going. Throw in some sunshine and bourbon and it’s a pretty good day out.

Might have to try the Sodom cake decorating some time haha

I did nightfill at the supermarkets as a second job for 10 years. Unpacking boxes is a lot easier with an angry dude screaming in your ear 😂😂😂

Cooking is always fun with Metal.

But there are times I use it when producing Art, both for creativity but also to keep the adrenaline pumping for "long haul" shifts. Having something chaotic keeps the mind sharp and focused.

I read an interesting old interview with Dan Seagrave a while back. He was talking about using different music for inspiration in his art work. As he was the guy that did old SEPULTURA, obituary album covers etc….. was cool to hear how he was inspired, especially with the crazy designs he dreamed up!!!
